Protect your personal information
- Don’t share your home address, workplace, financial details or ID documents with someone you haven’t met.

Never send money
No genuine match will ask you for money, gift cards, crypto, travel costs or help with an “emergency” or investment. If anyone asks, stop contact and report them from their profile.
Spotting a fake profile
- Very few photos that look like professional modelling shots.
- Declarations of love very quickly, or stories that don’t add up.
- Refusal to video call, or constant excuses for not meeting.
- Pressure to move to another app straight away.
Meeting in person
- Video chat first to confirm they’re real.
- Meet in a busy public place and arrange your own transport.
- Tell a friend where you’re going, who you’re meeting and when you expect to be back.
- Stay in control of your drink and your belongings, and leave if you feel uncomfortable.
